Activity Report Agate on CommunicAsia 2011 Singapore
Last week, we have our opportunity to be here in CommunicAsia Singapore, 21-24th of June 2011 together with the Nokia Connection. Selected to be one among of those great developers around Asia, we’re really proud of it. Thanks to Nokia Indonesia that has been supporting us this far, so that we could be worth to join this prestigious event.
We met so many great people around the world, opened a great new opportunities out there. Agate’s CEO also had chance to meet and dine with Steven Elop, Nokia’s CEO, and also the developer of the new legendary title Angry Birds, Rovio, and many great people there. They shared lot of things and we also had chance to sound our opinion, so that the developer’s environment would be better.

Located in Marina Bay Sands conference hall with hundreds of booths, this is the biggest international expo we have ever joined in. We saw so many latest technology advancement that in the eyes of a game developer, would be very interesting to play in.
As the representative from Indonesia, together with: Gits (Toresto), Kompas Digital, Apps developer from ITB, Agate Studio presented 5 games on the booth that are all available in OVI Store: Urban Fatburner, Dilemma, Infectonator, Bug War, and Celestial Navigator. All of them had more than 200,000 downloads till now.
Other than that, we’re still a baby that is trying to walk then jump, and we believe that soon it would be happened to us
We are now aiming for more than million downloads on OVI, and we are working on the games that would make it comes true. – just wait for it.
Actually during the event of CommunicAsia, our trip are separated into 3 different stories (I wonder if it’s turned out into a game storyline). Other than the CommunicAsia, we also had chance to explore many business contacts and learn many other things on Singapore.
The last, but not least, message of my report in CommunicAsia; is that this mobile market is growing to be real potential for game industry. Everybody is looking for fun everywhere, including in their mobile devices. Therefore, a mobile phone, of which almost every people had used it, become a great opportunity (a great battleground as well) for game developers. Know our market and build a game that they would love to play.
